ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE

A nostalgic and humorous look at life in St. John's in the 1940s and 1950

By Jack Fitzgerald

Short-list finalist, 1999 Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Book Award for Non-Fiction

Another Time, Another Place is an affectionate look back at downtown St. John's in the middle decades of this century. Fitzgerald draws largely upon his own memories of growing up in what is now the only remaining neighbourhood in what was once a vibrant, if not very well-to-do city core. The text is supplemented with a small number of archival photographs of the city and its people of that era.
